Here is a list of experimental test benches :

  • Device for studying the short-circuit between the steel sheets of turbo-generators
  • Experimental transformer with Step-Lap joint : a corner is equipped with 800 sensors (wounded coils)
  • Device for studying the impact of the local saturations in transformers
  • Induction machine with inverted stator and rotor for studying the harmonic currents in a cage
  • Permanent magnet Synchronous machine with axial flux
  • Text bench of static characterization of steel with low magnetic permeability
  • PWM inverter
  • Text bench for studying the vibratory effects of the magnetostriction and the Maxwell's forces
  • Modified Epstein frames for studying the losses in the corners

Labo B&V

The lab has specific equipments. Here is a list of the main elements. 

  • 1 semi-anéchoic room Chambre sourde
  • 15 acceerometers – 3 Microphones – 1  Sound Intensity Probe – 2 laser vibrometer
  • 4 spectrum analysers Bruël & Kjaer with Pulse 
  • 1 shaket Endevco
  • A test bench for vibratory diagnosis – System Kompass
  • Induction and synchronous machines (double star)
  • Oven (400°C with saline atmosphere, 1200°C) – Climate chambe(-80°C + 180°C, 100% d'humidité)
  • 14 Oscilloscopes Tektronics + current and voltage probes
  • 2 Wattmeters Yokogawa
  • 4 National Instrument acquisition stations 

 

This partial list is completed by the test benches carried out in the framework of theses done in the lab.

The experimentation : at the heart of the philosophy of the LSEE

The LSEE research group stands out thanks the strong experimental color. Boosted by J-F Brudny, this systematization of the experimentation has many advantages for :

- validating the results obtained with theoretical models,
- training the PhD students,
- being attractive to the industrial partners.

The equipment, bought with the lab funds or thanks regional or European grants funds, constitutes the platform S3E (Structure and Eco-Energy Efficiency). Since February 2012, this platform has integrated the "EUA European Platform of Universities Engaged in Energy Research" (Within the European Energy Research Alliance EERA)

The symbol of this dynamic is the 125 MW turbo-generator of the lab. Donation of EDF R&D, this large machine make it possible to study complex phenomena such as the impact of the leakage flux on the frontal parts of the magnetic circuit.

The LSEE has now a solid experience in the building of the experimental devices. Some industrial partners are accustomed to work with the staff of the lab where are implemented very specific models or prototypes.
