A few words from the research director

Jean-Philippe LECOINTE, Full Professor at LSEE

"A few years ago, the science of electrical machines was still seen - wrongly - as a bit outdated. Today it is the target of many interests. And for good reason: Rotating machines consume almost 70% of the energy consumed in French industry! The environmental awareness, new standards and the cost of energy have reintroduced electrical machines at the heart of research.

Since the early 90s, the LSEE researchers conducting activities on these electric machines and today, our research goals are to make them more efficient, quieter, more reliable and more environmentally friendly.

One of the particularities of the LSEE is the omnipresence of the experimental tests. The researchers, who visit the facilities of LSEE, even if they work within university laboratories or in industrial research, express certain astonishment in face of this systematization of the experimentation. This becomes today, one of the main advantage of our small entity that attracts national and international groups such as EDF, ThyssenKrupp, Safran or CEA.

These few pages will give you a good idea of our activities and, I hope, the desire to visit the LSEE to learn more, to work or to collaborate with our team. Have a good visit!"
